Photo courtesy of West New York police.By John Heinis/Hudson County ViewOn Sunday January 31st, at approximately 7:41 a.m., a call was made to the West New York Police Department reporting unknown medical problems at 115 60th Street, officials said.Emergency Medical Services responded to the call, yet the residents refused to allow EMS into their home, stating â€œthere was no problem.” EMS then waited for the arrival of the West New York Police Department at the front of the home, authorities said.A 33-year-old homeless man proceeded outside of the building claiming he was stabbed in Edgewater. The man had a puncture wound to the lower right abdominal area and left thigh, police said.He was later transported to Jersey City Medical Center for emergency surgery where he was deemed to be in stable, but serious, condition, officials said.Further investigation of the scene revealed the incident occurred at the residence as opposed to Edgewater. The crime scene was searched and actor Wenda Vidal, 42, of New York, was found in the apartment, authorities said.A kitchen knife with blood was recovered and appeared to be the weapon utilized in the attack. The investigation further revealed that a second male, 60, was also slashed on his right forearm, police said. The second victim was transported to Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen.The investigation concluded that the 33-year old-male and Vidal of New York City, were temporarily living in the 60 year old victimâ€™s residence, officials said.All parties appeared intoxicated at the time of incident when the altercation began between Vidal and the 33-year-old victim. The older victim attempted to stop the assault, authorities said.Vidal was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a a weapon for unlawful purposes, police said.
