The Croatian market in Budapest will be held until May 25, 2017 at the most beautiful market in Europe “Nagy Vásásrcsarnok”. 21 Croatian manufacturers present their offers and products.Today, the second day of the event was held Breakfast from Croatian farms where they ate breakfast products with quality labels: meat, milk and eggs from Croatian farms, honey from Lijepa naša, and flour and bread from Croatian fields. “Today, we are all turning to new trends, but we have proven to appreciate the originality and autochthony, that is, what has been created for centuries. For this reason, it is important to nurture the tradition and richness of the domestic offer. This year, for the first time, we came to the most famous market in Europe with a special goal, which is to present a complete tourist story and experience – Croatian destinations, Croatian flavors and Croatian indigenous products. I believe that in this way we can better convey to our guests all the diversity and interesting things that the whole of Croatia has to offer. This is also a confirmation that tourism, agriculture and the economy, when it comes to the promotion of Croatia, should perform together. “, said Minister Cappelli at the opening of the event, adding that he believes that this joint presentation in our emitting markets will continue in the future.By the way, a multi-month information campaign of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Croatian Agricultural Agency in Croatian counties, which promoted domestic products and encouraged their consumption, ended with a big Breakfast from Croatian farms held in Zagreb on May 13. About 500 agricultural producers from all over Croatia took part in the campaign.”Hungarians are always welcome guests of our tourist destinations and I am glad that Breakfast from Croatian farms had its foreign premiere in Budapest. There has been talk for decades about the need to connect domestic producers and catering and hotel facilities and I am pleased that we have moved things in the right direction. We have not only been involved in promotional activities, but we have incorporated into the regulations provisions that will provide our producers with fair working conditions and equal rights with their European counterparts. Cooperation with the tourism sector is extremely important to us because it gives the best results for both agricultural production and the tourist offer. Not enough time has passed yet to assess the effectiveness of the implemented measures, but the first statistical indicators show that we are reducing imports and increasing exports of agricultural and food products.” said Agriculture Minister Tomislav Tolusic. The Hungarian market is one of the most important emitting markets for Croatian tourism, and tourists from Hungary are the tenth most numerous guests in our country. Last year, there were 513 thousand arrivals from Hungary (+12 percent) and 2,75 million overnight stays (+11 percent), which represents a share of about 3 percent in the total realized overnight stays. Guests from Hungary spent the most nights in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, followed by Istria, the Split-Dalmatia County and the Zadar County. Among the most visited destinations last year were Crikvenica, Vir, Rovinj, Medulin and Lopar, and guests from Hungary spent the most nights in household facilities (48 percent) and hotels (23 percent).last_img
