DFA’s AGM and election postponed due to court ruling

first_img Share The Dominica Football Association’s (DFA) annual general meeting and elections scheduled for Saturday 27 June 2015 has been postponed to August following the outcome of a high court ruling between the former president Dexter Francis and the Dominica Football association. Francis had taken the DFA to court to enforce a March court order which challenged the legality of the election of Glen Ettiene as president. Both parties issued this joint statement following the court ruling. “It has been agreed to all parties due to the matters arising out of the application which was presented to court in civil suit number 110 of 2014 that in the best interest of the future of football in Dominica, it has been ordered by consent that the application made by the claimant of the 8th of May 2015, be withdrawn, that the annual conference scheduled for Saturday 27th June 2015 be postponed the 1st of August 2015 and that the association will convene an emergency meeting of the board on or before 6pm Thursday 25th June 2015 for the purpose of postponing the annual conference as provided for by article 18 (8) and 19 (4) of the association’s constitution,” the statement said.
