Inoue undergoes ankle surgery

first_imgOlympic and world champion Kosei Inoue has undergone surgery to remove bone chips from his left ankle but is expected to compete at the Jan. 11-12 Kano Cup international tournament as scheduled, Japanese judo officials said Wednesday.The surgery was performed in mid-October after Inoue won the Asian Games open-class gold in South Korea, adding to the 100-kg titles he won at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 and last year’s World Championships in Germany.
