Wrestler Obara captures 48-kg gold

first_img IN FIVE EASY PIECES WITH TAKE 5 ISTANBUL – Hitomi Obara successfully defended her title in the women’s 48-kg class Wednesday, giving Japan its first gold medal at the World Wrestling Championships in Istanbul.Obara eliminated Beijing Olympic gold medalist Carol Huynh of Canada 2-0 in the quarterfinals on her way to the final, where she beat 2009 world champion Maria Stadnyk of Azerbaijan 2-1.
