Signing Tottenham player ‘makes no sense’ – Deemed ‘not good enough’…

first_imgWith his contract expiring next summer and no deal at Tottenham in sight, Christian Eriksen’s next club remains a hot topic. The midfielder made it clear after the Champions League final that he fancied a move elsewhere but never got his wish during the summer transfer window. His form since then has been patchy at best, but he remains a top-level footballer and one that plenty of clubs would be willing to take, particularly on a free. His contract situation has left Tottenham vulnerable, with several top clubs already linked with moves for the Danish midfielder.Bayern Munich are one of those who have been repeatedly named as suitors, despite the fact they signed Philippe Coutinho in the summer.Lothar Matthäus is having none of the rumours, though, claiming that it would be surprising to see Eriksen swap Spurs for Die Roten.“I have been following the player for a long time, and he has disappointed me so far in 2019,” told Sport 1.“A transfer to FC Bayern would not make any sense for me and would be very surprising. For me, he is not a player who helps Bayern.“If he is not enough for Tottenham, he is not good enough for Bayern. Uli Hoeneß has also said that Bayern do not need substitutes.”For Matthäus, the issue lies in where Eriksen would fit into this current iteration given the players already at their disposal.Bayern signed Coutinho on loan from Barcelona this summer, in a deal that could well be made permanent, while they also have Thomas Müller who prefers to play the number ten role. That would leave Eriksen fighting two players for one spot, a battle Matthäus doesn’t seem to think he’d win.“Eriksen is a fine technician, a typical number 10. But he’s too slow, and Niko Kovac likes fast players,” he added.“For me, Eriksen is not the kind of player who makes all the difference at the highest level, so concentrate on the transfer of Kai Havertz next summer, and you still have Philippe Coutinho, who plays well as a ten.“Do not forget Müller, who can play any position offensively and should not give up, I stick to it: Eriksen makes no sense to me.”by Taboolaby TaboolaSponsored LinksSponsored LinksPromoted LinksPromoted LinksTrending TodayForge of Empires – Free Online GameBuild a City, Trade With Your Neighbors, Play With Your FriendsForge of Empires – Free Online GameUndoMisterStocksThese Hilarious Photos Were Captured On The SubwayMisterStocksUndo聽多多 Hearmore.asia1969年前出生的香港居民現可免費試戴頂尖的歐洲助聽器聽多多 Hearmore.asiaUndoSingles50Hong Kong: A 40+ Dating Site That Actually Works!Singles50UndoTheTopFiveVPNEnjoy Netflix Now Without Any RestrictionsTheTopFiveVPNUndoCNN with DBS BankWhat Banks Did To Help Corporations Mitigate Future CrisesCNN with DBS BankUndoLifestly.comWhere Ronaldo lives at 42 is heartbreakingLifestly.comUndocosmohealthymag.comMishaps That Happen to Celebrities on the Red Carpetcosmohealthymag.comUndoLoans | Search AdsNeed a loan?
